Most patients describe the treatment as a series of quick snapping sensations. Comfort varies depending on the area being treated, and numbing may be used when appropriate.
PicoWay is known for its low-downtime profile. Mild redness, swelling, or skin sensitivity may occur after treatment and typically resolves within a day or two. Most patients return to their normal routines the same day or the following day, depending on the area treated and the concern being addressed.
The number of sessions depends on what we are treating. Pigmentation, texture, and acne scarring are generally treated as a series. Tattoo removal often requires additional sessions depending on the ink and tattoo characteristics.
PicoWay may be suitable for a broad range of skin tones because its ultra-short pulses limit the amount of heat transferred into surrounding tissue. Your skin type and treatment concern will be carefully evaluated before treatment.
PicoWay can significantly fade or, in some cases, remove tattoo pigment, but results vary based on ink color, depth, density, age of the tattoo, and your individual response.
Some patients notice changes after an early treatment, but PicoWay results are generally progressive. Pigment clearance and collagen remodeling continue in the weeks following each session.
